The Poachers Daughter is a good read. I enjoyed Kate's story very much. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 only because it has so very many characters it was hard to keep them straight at some points. I felt happy and sad at different times. The book held my attention and I didn't want to put it down.
This was an oKay book for a nice light enjoyable read while killing some time waiting for your doctor appointment
I really enjoyed reading this book. Easy reading and one of those books you don't want to put down and whenyou finish reading it you wish it had a Book 2.
I had high hopes for this book when I read the author's bio but was disappointed in all the typos in it. I don't know how many of the typos were caused from converting from one format to another on the author's side but it made for a difficult read. I couldn't understand why she kept saying that the main character had perfect diction and then would have her use some slang. The dialogue is difficult to read because the author is trying to make it more like the way the characters talk. The story is interesting if you can get past all that.
It was such a good story about how no matter how you change on the outside your heart remains the same. It was a bit drawn out in some places but overall it was a good read. I could have screamed at my a couple of times not knowing how it could possibly turn out okay but was very pleased with the twists overall.
I can't give a book a mediocre review because of a few typos or errors in the kindle conversion process. It would have been nice if someone had proofread the kindle version, but still a wonderful book. The story centers around the labor unrest of the times and ultimate formation of labor unions. In the midst of all this is a lovely story of a young girl raised by a "gypsy" of sorts. It is a very compelling story, well written and with gripping characters. I couldn't put it down and read it in one day. Highly recommend it.
I do not like romance novels. If I had known this was going to be one, I wouldn't have purchased the book. I'm glad I didn't know. I love historical fiction, and this book was spot-on! It was one of those can-not-put-it-down page turner books that keep you up reading just one more page, way too late at night.
